How to Select the Right Size Rug for your Dining Room

What size should a dining room area rug be?
- That all depends on your space
- A large rug is in proportion to a grand size table
- When the dining space is small or an odd shape a custom size allows for the perfect fit
Tips to Remember
- Don't leave your chairs hanging
- Do allow enough room for the chairs to remain on the rug
- You need at least 24" beyond the table on all sides
- A table for four fits best on a rug that is about 8 feet round or square
Helpful measuring tips
- First Step, pull all the chairs out from around the table, as if you were to sit down
- Next use masking tape to mark the floor behind each chair
- Measure your marks
- Ideally, the back of the chair should be 24-30 inches from the table
