What size should a dining room area rug be?

That all depends on your space
A large rug is in proportion to a grand size table
When the dining space is small or an odd shape a custom size allows for the perfect fit

Tips to Remember

Don't leave your chairs hanging
Do allow enough room for the chairs to remain on the rug
You need at least 24" beyond the table on all sides
A table for four fits best on a rug that is about 8 feet round or square

Helpful measuring tips

First Step, pull all the chairs out from around the table, as if you were to sit down
Next use masking tape to mark the floor behind each chair
Measure your marks
Ideally, the back of the chair should be 24-30 inches from the table
